Kardashian's Dash From Strip Mall in Calabassas to SoHo in NYC

Dash in Calabassas

119 Spring Street in SoHo, New Location for Manhattan Dash

The Kardashians are a clever family. They are using their star status to help their retail store business. They are entering their new season of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" on the E Network. Kourtney and Kim will be living in NYC for 3 months. Since Kim just bought a very nice Rolls Royce, Ghost that is about 250,00 dollars and there should be no reason for her to want to be in Manhattan with a car like that.

Strawberry Fields in Manhattan......A Very Special Place In Honor of John Lennon

Strawberry Fields

Located near Central Park West between 71st and 74th Streets, Strawberry Fields is a 2.5 acre area of Central Park that pays tribute to the late Beatle, John Lennon, singer, songwriter, musician and peace activist.

John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono lived in the Dakota Apartments adjacently located to this area of the park. It was here, walking into his home, on December 8, 1980, that John Lennon was murdered and shot dead.

Strawberry Fields

To commemorate his life, talents and memory, on March 26, 1981, City Council Member Henry J. Stern designated this area, the couple's favorite in Central Park, as Strawberry Fields. Named after the title of the Beatles' song "Strawberry Fields Forever," the teardrop shaped region was re-landscaped by the Central Park Conservancy with the help of landscape architect Bruce Kelley and a generous $1 million donation from Yoko Ono.

The iconic black and white Imagine mosaic, designed by a team of artists from the Italian city of Naples, lies in the center of Strawberry Fields. Named after another famous song by John Lennon, "Imagine" evokes a vision and hope for a world without strife, war and conflict. Additionally, there is a bronze plaque that lists the more than 120 countries that planted flowers and donated money for the maintenance of the area; they have also endorsed Strawberry Fields as a Garden of Peace.

Designated as a quiet zone in Central Park, Strawberry Fields, fashioned similarly to the original flowing design of the park, is lined with tall elm trees, shrubs, flowers and rocks.

Strawberry Fields officially reopened on October 9, 1985, the 45th anniversary of John Lennon's birth. Annually, on this date, as well as on the anniversary of John Lennon's death, visitors and fans from all over the globe flock to Strawberry Fields to pay homage to this Beatles' legacy.

Special thanks to the Central Park website for this information.

Squirrel Says Hello

I found this squirrel to be quite amusing. I was walking through Madison Park on 23rd street and found a group of squirrels running up to me as I walked. Unfortunately the picture is not as clear because I quickly snapped the picture. I still think it is adorable. Squirrel on Fence in Manhattan, JoAnna Levenglick

Naked Lady Gets Painted in Front of Metropolitan Museum..well almost naked!

Andy Golub is seen here painting this model who is almost naked. She was wearing a thong and it did not appear that she was wearing anything to cover her breasts. I found them in front of the Metropolitan Museum doing what he refers as, live outdoor art." He is from Nyack, New York and he has been doing this for 2 years. I was curious about what the police would say, or even the city for a permit. His response was, since it is a self expression of art that it is OK to do. One thing I will say is that he sure got a lot of attention. While I was taking a photo of him there were at least another ten camera people doing the same. As for the model....I wonder how long she will wear her paint. JoAnna Levenglick

Happy Valentines' Day!

This necklace was in the window of Harry Winston, one of the finest jewelry stores on 5th Avenue, in Manhattan. The fun thing about Manhattan is that you can just go window shopping and have the time of your life by seeing what is on display. I can't imagine how much this necklace was, but it sure is beautiful! Photo, JoAnna Levenglick
